On Thursday, May 11th, the CCCJ hosted the Special Monthly Mixer – Meet the Candidates at Midtown BBQ Tokyo in Iidabashi. Organized by Ai Nakagawa and Gordon Hatton, co-chairs of the Nominations Committee, over 25 participants joined the evening to meet with the candidates of the 2023 CCCJ Board of Governors and to network with the members and their colleagues over a fine spread of buffet course and cold beverages prepared by Midtown BBQ Tokyo.
On Friday, April 14th, the CCCJ Market Access Advisory Committee (MAAC), chaired by Mr. Shailesh Shukla, ICD.D,MBA,BE, hosted its inaugural MAAC Forum at CIC Tokyo. Having Mr. Ichita Yamamoto, Governor of Gunma Prefecture, and Ms. Fujiko Amano, Director for Investment Collaboration at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), as speakers, over 40 in-person and online participants joined to hear the latest information from the national and local governments on its initiatives to attract foreign investment in Japan.

On Saturday, March 25th, the CCCJ Wellness Committee hosted “Break Dance Lesson 101” in Shibuya. Organized by Joey Wu, Chair of the Wellness Committee, 14 participants joined the fun breakdance lesson taught by the two professionals, Jason Tao who has 15 years of breaking experience, and Aki Kaneko, Chair of the Events Committee, who has 18 years of experience.
On Thursday March 16th, the CCCJ held the March Monthly Mixer at our corporate member, HyLife Pork Table restaurant in Daikanyama. Nearly 50 guests, including CCCJ governors, members and their colleagues and friends enjoyed catching up with one another and making new acquaintances over a buffet-style food featuring Canadian HyLife pork and some refreshing beverages.

Specialist professional recruitment firm Robert Walters Japan, a CCCJ Corporate Member, revealed findings from its "Salary Survey 2023" on 15 February, suggesting companies should delve into countering the demotivators that employees are grappling with as they consider a new career move. In addition to “to increase my salary” and “to progress my career” both at 51%, “time for a change and do something new” (39%) & “poor company culture” (27%) also ranked among the top reasons why employees surveyed are not satisfied and lack creativity and stimulation at work, leading them to seek new opportunities.
