"Five foreign chambers of commerce in Japan on Wednesday called on the Japanese government to legalize same-sex marriage.
Tokyo, Japan (September 20, 2018) With only one year until the Rugby World Cup, 8 foreign Chambers of Commerce in Japan have formally announced the creation of a coalition, The Rugby Alliance, launched at a special event “Rugby World Cup 2019 – One Year To Go” on Wednesday, September 19 at Happo-en.
On the morning of September 14, British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ ) and CCCJ members joined the presentation by Helen Woods, Managing Director of Equiom Solutions currently manages Equiom's team of tax professionals, who deliver compliance and consultancy tax services to individuals, companies and trustees and ensure that all entities managed by Equiom are tax compliant.

The UBC Baseball program is launching an international baseball initiative. It will see the UBC varsity team start annual exhibition games and tournaments versus Universities and National Teams from countries across the world. A major emphasis will be put on games against teams from Asia (Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan). We will begin by playing other Universities from these countries and include NCAA Div.1 Universities where possible. The opportunity exists to use Vancouver and UBC as the gateway between baseball crazed countries from Asia and Canada. UBC Baseball is the perfect team for this initiative given we are the only official college baseball program in Canada that competes for a US National Championship (NAIA). In Vancouver, numerous business, political and university partnerships and relationships are already in place with these countries. Using baseball to strengthen these relationships is a very unique opportunity.

On June 7, 2018, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan, along with fourteen other chambers in Tokyo hosted the annual joint chamber summer cocktails at the Roppongi Hills Club. There were roughly 384 attendees for this event-- the biggest number the event has seen so far.
The CCCJ's 17th Annual Golf tournament brought together 48 golfers at Tsutsujigaoka Country Club.
On Sat. May 19th, several CCCJ governors and Honorary Board of Advisor members met with seven Members of Parliament who are members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the House of Commons. The Committee visited Japan as part of a three-country visit, which will also included South Korea and the Philippines.
On April 19th, we had a Joint chambering night,"The Amore mio!" organized by ICCJ (Italian Chamber of Commerce) in collaboration with ABC (Austrian Business Council), ACCJ (American Chamber of Commerce in Japan), AHK Japan (German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan), ANZCCJ (Australian and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan), BL CCJ(Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Japan), CCIFJ ( French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan), SACCJ (South African Chamber of Commerce Japan) and SCCIJ (Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan), and CCCJ. The event took place at a newly refurbished warehouse by the Tokyo waterway, with the food catered by Angelo Court Tokyo, an A.Q.I. certified Sicilian restaurant in Yaesu.
On June 22, 2017, the Board of Governors proposed an amendment to the current Constitution and Bylaws of the CCCJ to remove the current term limits to the governor positions (with new reporting requirements for incumbent nominees). The result was to table the discuss, and host a Town Hall meeting before the 2018 Annual General Meeting.
On April 5th, Young Professionals from CCCJ along with the American, Austrian, British, Belgian, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, South-African, Spanish and Swiss Chambers enjoyed some networking at Longrain at Yebisu Garden Tower with the splendid view of Tokyo.
On March 15th, we continued our CCCJ Speaker Series by welcoming the Dean of the McGill Japan MBA programme, Professor of Finance Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou for a lunchtime seminar at Roppongi Hills Club. The event was supported by CCI France Japon and McGill MBA Japan.
