TOKYO, May 15, 2017—The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (CCCJ) is pleased to name award-winning Custom Media as publisher and exclusive advertising agency of The Canadian magazine’s special issue to mark the country’s 150 years of Confederation.
In recent years, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of individuals, organisations and companies tackling social and environmental issues in Japan.
The Tokyo One-Stop Business Establishment Center (TOSBEC) provides centralized services for procedures needed to establish a company or to start up a business in Tokyo, such as certification of Articles of Incorporation, company registration, taxes, pension and social insurance, and immigration procedures.
The CCCJ's 16th Annual Golf tournament brought together 51 ethusiastic golfers from Tokyo's business community this year at Tsutsujigaoka Country Club. A day of perfect weather, with blue skies and just enoguh sun, we enjoyed a full day of golf and beer before finishing off with an award dinnner party on the terrace. As with previous years, our tournament was played in a team scramble format; no one plays alone, and no worries about odd and wayward shots! Teamwork and fun are key points to this event! Our best foursome team this year actually went to a team of 3: Micheal Treytiak, Dean Rogers, and Kevin Plastow, with a score of 60.
The Canadian athletic apparel retailer lululemon welcomed its grand opening of its Ginza Six store on April 20. Established in 1998, the Vancouver-based company has seen tremendous success in the international market, and is now back in Tokyo. CCCJ Executive Director Jim Zhang met with Ken Lee, SVP of Asia Pacific Retail to congratulate their grand opening and discussed the chamber's role to assist a Canadian company in Japan.

Thank you everyone for your support in the CCCJ's CSR program, the Tohoku Youth Project 2017. We were very happy to wrap up this year's project with our Tokyo Bay Night Cruising event on March 17th, 2017.
The CCCJ in collaboration with Tokyo Canadians Hockey Club organized another edition of "Hockey Night in Tokyo" at Legend's Sports Bar in Roppongi. Around 40 people came out to the event and enjoyed another great evening of hockey and refreshments. Part of the evening's spendings will go into the CCCJ CSR Fund. We look forward to welcoming more people to the next hockey night.
